NIGHT DREAMER

> Established in 2019, Night Dreamer is an analogue-focused platform for recordings, production and archiving.

Bringing together direct-to-disc sessions, reissue-focused sublabels, reel-to-reel editions and collaborative projects, Night Dreamer explores different ways of capturing and presenting music through analogue processes. Each project is guided by a shared attention to detail - from performance and recording to the physical format itself.

Night Dreamer takes its name from ‘Night Dreamer’, Wayne Shorter’s 1964 album and his first for Blue Note as a bandleader - a record that reflects the spirit of spontaneity and craft.

Across all projects, Night Dreamer is driven by a simple idea: that the way music is recorded and produced shapes how it is heard and experienced.

direct-to-disc

> Our Direct-to-Disc Series captures artists live and direct, exactly as they are in the moment.

Recorded with our family at Artone Studios in Haarlem, The Netherlands - a studio filled with vintage analogue recording and mastering equipment - each session is cut straight to lacquer as the music is being performed. No overdubs, no edits, no second takes. What you hear on the finished record is exactly what happened in the room.

Once the lacquer is cut, it’s simply carried downstairs to the pressing plant at Record Industry, where the vinyl production begins.

Spanning a wide range of artists and styles, every release in the series follows the same process: musicians stepping into the studio, committing to the take, and capturing a moment in time.

> Day Dreamer is our space for recordings that aren’t direct-to-disc - using traditional recording techniques, overdubs, and working with studios and engineers from around the world.

Alongside new recordings, Day Dreamer unearths reissues, giving rare and overlooked projects a new lease on life through careful restoration and analogue mastering. Every release reflects the same attention to detail and commitment to sound quality that defines the Night Dreamer ethos.

> TWINN is our curated Reel-to-Reel Series.

Sourced from original master tapes or stereo mixdowns, we collaborate closely with artists, labels, and estates to preserve the integrity of each recording. Every reel is individually duplicated on high-quality RTM blank tape and customized for a listening experience that highlights the warmth, depth, and dynamic range of analogue sound.

Presented in perhaps its purest form, TWINN releases aim to make you feel as if you were in the studio, capturing every nuance, detail, and breath of the performance.
